Teachers Training
The Israel's education system faces numerous challenges regarding the status of teachers. The starting salary for teachers in elementary and high schools is relatively low compared to other OECD countries. This salary level does not sufficiently address the economic needs of many teachers, making it difficult for them to manage family life with dignity.
In addition to low wages, classrooms in Israel are among the most crowded in the Western world. An annual OECD report found that Israel ranks 35th out of 38 countries in terms of classroom density. These crowded classrooms make it challenging for teachers to handle the educational and social challenges of their students, leading to increased burnout and many teachers leaving the profession within a few years of starting.
Another significant issue in the education system is the substantial shortage of teachers. The current shortage impacts the quality of teaching and learning in schools, making it difficult to provide the necessary attention and support to each student.
To address these challenges and improve the situation for teachers, a new scholarship fund has been established. This fund aims to send young people to study education and other professions. In return for the scholarship, these young professionals commit to returning to the education system and working as teachers after completing their studies. This program allows us to train new professionals, support them financially, and meet the need for quality teachers in the education system.
If we do not start taking action now, we will not be able to find enough teachers in our schools in the coming years. We need teachers who seek the Kingdom in classrooms, who see the soul of the child, and who are professional enough to intellectually challenge the students. We believe that the scholarship program will help raise the standard of teaching in Israel, improve working conditions for teachers, and grant them the recognition and respect they deserve. By investing in education and training the next generation of teachers, we ensure a better educational future for Israel's students and the entire education system.
